My Mission:
I started Approachable Financial Planning in order to bring financial planning to the general public regardless of income or the amount of assets someone has saved. I enjoy helping clients live their best life now while protecting their financial future through the process of financial planning. It is my belief that everyone should have access to advice that is affordable and in their best interest.
Meet Laura
Laura, the founder of Approachable Financial Planning, is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) who works with individuals and families to achieve their financial goals.
Before launching Approachable Financial Planning, Laura spent 20 years working in financial roles in the corporate, non-profit and most recently the personal finance sector. Laura began her career at State Street Corporation where her interest in the financial industry began. In order to further her knowledge of the financial industry she completed her MBA in Finance at Bentley University. During this time Laura also volunteered at several local non-profit agencies and after completing her MBA, Laura decided to merge her desire to help others with her professional skills. This led her to work as a Financial Analyst at City Year and then at the Museum of Science for over a decade, beginning as a Grant Accountant and ending as the Finance and Operations Manager. Laura’s desire to help others and her long-term interest in financial planning led her to pursue this fully in 2016. Since then she has worked at several greater Boston financial planning firms, completed the financial planning certificate program at Boston University, and passed the exam necessary to earn her CFP®.
Laura lives in her hometown of Rockport with her husband. In her free time Laura enjoys spending time outdoors walking the paths of Dogtown, hiking in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, cross country skiing in winter, and kayaking for as long as the New England summer allows.
